Inside Aperture's Growing Asset-Based Finance Strategy
When Aperture Investors unveiled its ABF strategy in August last year, it was a set US$1bn play designed to plug the gap between fledgling ABF entrants and the mega-funds that had moved upmarket.
Speaking to SCI a year ago, Nick Turgeon, hired from Castlelake to run the platform, promised "a downside-first, data-driven underwriting process" and a structure "large enough to be a partner that can scale with leading originators, yet small enough to remain highly selective."
Twelve months on, Turgeon gave a candid account of how the strategy has translated into deployment and where the strategy is heading next.
