Simon Thorp

Chief Investment Officer, Global Credit

Simon Thorp is Chief Investment Officer of Global Credit at Aperture. He joined KKR & Co. Inc. (“KKR”) in 2014 after its acquisition of Avoca Capital. At KKR, he led the European long/short credit business. Before joining Avoca Capital in 2011, he managed the Liontrust Credit fund at Liontrust Asset Management plc (formerly Ilex Asset Management). Prior to this role, he was Chief Executive Officer of Exco plc, a U.K.-based business. He spent seventeen years trading fixed-income at Akroyd and Smithers Ltd as well as two years with S.G. Warburg & Co. before joining Salomon Brothers, Inc. to run its U.K. government bond-trading team. In 1992, he joined the newly formed NatWest Markets and was responsible for European government trading and sales before managing credit products. At NatWest Markets, he was co-head of global fixed income and was a member of the debt capital markets management committee for four years. He received his B.Sc in Economics and Politics from the University of Keele.
