Rick Harrell is an Analyst at Aperture Investors. He has over a decade’s experience working in emerging markets research and macro strategy.
Rick has been involved in consulting, international economic research organizations, and the buy-side, most recently serving as a sovereign analyst at Loomis, Sayles, and Company. An ardent “macro-empiricist,” Rick is passionate about the use of data to identify trends, turning points, and opportunities. He is excited to join Aperture and be a part of making the asset management industry more efficient and sustainable. Rick’s experience living in Brazil, paired with his study of linguistics and international economics drives a multidisciplinary approach to the work of investing.
Rick earned a B.S. in linguistics from BYU, and both an M.S. in applied economics and an M.A. in international finance from Johns Hopkins. Rick’s spare time is occupied by his four children, but he can occasionally be found at the beach catching wind and waves, kite surfing, running, and cycling.
